Life?

Why Do Human Beings Exist!

Are we .....

l

A chance product of millions of years of random evolution?

l

A machine for DNA to reproduce itself and survive?

l

A tiny insignificant bundle of atoms in a vast universe?

l

A brain that lives and dies with no future?

Why do we have life as human beings?

Most people go through life not even asking the question, let alone knowing the true answer.

Where can we find the true answer to this question we all should be asking?

I asked this question many years ago and was pointed to a book I had heard of but knew little about what it said.

I call it now the "Handbook For Life", because it shows me why I exist and what I should be doing with the life I have.

The first hurdle I had to jump was to accept that there is a God who created all things that exist.

I was taught evolution at school but those who taught it could not answer many questions I asked about how I came to exist, who I was, as a human being.

The teacher had to admit evolution was only a theory [which means - "we think it could be what we say"] not the truth.

Where then did I find the truth?

To my amazement I found that the truth was not facts and figures but a person.

Let us read this in the Handbook For Life [also known as the Christian Bible].

John 14:6  "Jesus [Christ] said unto him, I am the way, the truth and the life."

How could this Jesus Christ make such a claim?

John 1:1-4, 14  "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God ... all things were made by Him, and without Him was not anything made, in Him was life ... the Word was made flesh [a human being] and dwelt among us..."

We all know of the Christmas story when Jesus Christ was born, but He originally was the Word, as quoted above.

Where do we humans fit into this story?

More from the "Handbook For Life".

Genesis 1:26-27  "And God said [remember the Word Jesus Christ was with God and was God] let us make man [human beings] in our image after our likeness ... so God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him, male and female created He them."

Humans are the result of a decision made by the Creator God.

But notice that only part of that creation was made.  In the beginning the "image" but not the "likeness".

What is the difference between "image" and "likeness"?

Why only "image" at this first creation?

Hidden in the answer to this question lies the very reason for human existence.

The meaning of the two different Hebrew words used helps us understand the answer.

"Image" means "shadow or resemblance"

We can often recognise a person or object by their shadow but we know it is not the real thing.

"Likeness" - means two for one - manner or son.  Referring more to character than appearance.

The "image" of God we see walking about on the streets and we have temporary relationships with such people every day.

The "likeness" of God is something very different indeed, and all humans have been given life by the Creator God to experience at some time the creation of this second phase to God's Master Plan for all humanity.

The "Handbook For Life" also tells us how this "likeness" will be created.

John 14:9  "Jesus said to him [Philip] have I been so long time you, and yet you do not know me, Philip, he that has seen me has seen [God] the Father."

If we study the life of Jesus Christ and seek to become like Him in character we will then become the "likeness" of God and fulfil the reason we have human existence.

To help you fulfil the reason for our existence as human beings, I have prepared several articles that are available on this website.  Please take time to study and meditate on what they explain.

The above articles are available in booklet form free on request.

There will be no follow up, demand for money, you will not be asked to join any organisation, nor will your name and address be given to anyone else.

Thank you for reading this webpage.

I look forward to hearing from you.
